Bagdogra to Phuntsholing (156km, 4hours)

Arrive at Bagdogra airport.
Our chauffer will meet and greet you and then transfer to Phuntsholing from Bagdogra airport.
Check into the hotel and relax.
Dinner and overnight stay at Phuntsholing hotel.
Day 2
Phuntsholing to Thimphu (164km, 5hours)
Check out after the breakfast.
Complete the immigration formalities at the entry gate.
Later head toward Thimphu (5hours drive) - Capital city of Bhutan
On the way, visit Sangye Migyur Ling Lhakhang.
On arrival to Thimphu, check into the hotel and have a good rest.
Evening will be at your own leisure.
Dinner and overnight stay at Thimphu hotel.
Day 3
Thimphu
After breakfast leave for sightseeing.
Visit Buddha Dordenma- The statue was made celebrating the 60th anniversary of the fourth King Jigme Singye Wangchuck while fulfilling two ancient prophecies from the 8th and 12th century which stated that a giant Buddha statue would be built in the region to bless the world with peace and happiness.
Simply Bhutan- Museum resembling a Bhutanese village, featuring traditional cuisine, demonstrations & performances.
Then visit National Library that has vast collection of ancient Buddhist texts and manuscripts.
After that drive to Painting School, famous for traditional Thangkha paintings. Here you will see, students at work producing intricate design on cloth.
Also visit to Traditional Medicine Institute is worthwhile where centuries old healing arts still practiced.
Trashichho Dzong the beautiful medieval fortress/monastery which houses most of the Government’s office and King’s Throne room.
Post Office Museum- captures the story of the evolution of communication, transportation and postal services in Bhutan.
In the evening, drive to Thimphu valley.

Day 4
Thimphu to Punakha (75km, 3hours)
Check out after breakfast.
Drive to Punakha with a short stop at Dochula pass (3,050m) that heralds the most enchanting views of Bhutan.
Later visit to Punakha Dzong, the 17th century fortress that has played important role in building up of modern Bhutan.
You will also visit Punakha suspension bridge and Chimi Lhakhang.
Check into the hotel.
Dinner and overnight stay at Punakha hotel.

Day 5
Punakha to Paro (128km, 4hours)
Check out after your breakfast.
Head toward Paro valley.
Later on, visit Ta Dzong, the National Museum of the Kingdom. Originally built as Watch Tower since 1967 it is serving as the National Museum of the country and holding fascinating collection of art, artifacts, Thangkha paintings and Bhutan’s exquisite postage stamps.
Then walk down the trail to visit Rinpung Dzong which has a long and fascinating history.
Check into the hotel.
Dinner and overnight stay at Paro hotel.
Today take an excursion to Taktsang Monastery, the most famous of Bhutanese monasteries. It is said that Guru Rinpoche arrived here on the back of a tigress and meditated at this monastery hence it is called “Tiger’s Nest”.
The excursion to monastery’s viewpoint takes about 5 hours for round trip.
After an exhausting day, traditional hot stone bath is so soothing to your body and mind.
Local wine goes best along with hot bath.

Paro to Phuntsholing
Check out after breakfast.
Today we head back to Phuntsholing.

Milarepa Tower (The nine-story tower), is considered as one of the early founders of Drukpa Kagyu, so the Lhakhang is being constructed as symbol of Drukpa Kagyu and Buddhism.
Day 8
Phuntsholing to Bagdogra
Check out after breakfast, it’s time to bid goodbye to a wonderful week in Bhutan.
After that we head back to Phuntsholing Terminal and exit.
Drop back to Bagdogra Airport.
